Betty J.Dickison, 78, of rural Jonesboro, Indiana, died Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Wesleyan Health Care. Betty was born on August 5, 1939 in Jonesboro, Indiana, daughter of the late Clarence W. andWavalene(Holloway) Nelson. She graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1958 and received her BS in Nursing fromGrant School of Practical Nursing in 1960. Betty worked as anLPNat the Marion VA Medical Center for 2 years and at Marion General Hospital for 23 years. Betty married JamesDickisonon January 30, 1965. She attended theFowlertonUnited Methodist Church andHanfieldUnited Methodist Church. Betty enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, and going out to eat, especially at Red Lobster and Hong Kong. Betty is survived by her husband, Jim Dickison, children; Nathan (Janelle)Dickison, and RebekahSnedigar, both ofVan Buren, and DanielDickison, Jonesboro; sister, Roberta (Barry) Bennett, Gas City, and brother, Keith, (Sandy) Nelson, Fairmount, 3 grandchildren; EmilySnedigar, Van Buren, Derek (Kassandra) Sutton, Jonesboro, and Cory Sutton,Van Buren, great-grandson, Kieran Sutton, and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are being handled by the Fairmount Chapel ofArmes-HuntFuneral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana where there will be a visitation on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 11-1 PM with the funeral at 1 PM with Pastor Jack Scott officiating. Burial will be at a later date atIOOFCemetery in Marion, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to theFowlertonUnited Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
