Bernardine "Chouquette" Marie-Josette Pogue

Bernardine Marie-Josette "Chouquette" Pogue, 86, of Fairmount went home to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday August 19, 2023.

Chouquette was born on April 26, 1937, in Nancy, France. She met and married the love of her life, Paavo E. Pogue in France, on October 15, 1954, while he was serving in the U.S. Army.

Chouquette was a nature and animal lover. She enjoyed working in her yard and feeding the birds and squirrels. She also enjoyed the many fishing trips she and Paavo took to Minnesota. She received the Lord as her Savior in July of 1982. From that day forward her passion was loving and serving the Lord!

Chouquette is survived by her sister, Jeanine (Bill) Wehrung, New Berne, NC, special friend and caregiver Jody Zirkle, and the Zirkle family of Fairmount.

She was preceded in death by her husband Paavo, their son Danny Pogue, siblings Jacqueline Tisserand and Jarque Tisserand, and brother-in-law Paul Pogue.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. A graveside service celebrating Chouquette's life will be at Park Cemetery on August 26, 2023 at 1 PM with Chaplain Matt Shelton officiating.
