Bernard Jackson, 95, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 19, 2022. He was born in Freeport, Long Island, New York on September 3, 1927 to the late Earnest Benjamin Jackson and Beulah (Combs) Jackson.
He was in the U.S. Coast Guard, and the U.S. Army during World War II, where he served as a Medic on the USS Hope hospital ship in Europe.
He married Frances Marie Barnett on Jun 27, 1947. She preceded him in Death on June 4, 1992.
He lived much of his life on Long Island, New York working in construction. He was also a drummer in a dance band for many years, loved music, and enjoyed being an entertainer.
He moved to Florida in 1974 and was hired as a maintenance supervisor in a Broward County elementary school, which he loved, and retired in 1992.
He married Christine Sacra in 1994 and she preceded him in death in 2019.
In addition to his Parents and spouses, he was preceded in death by son, Bernard (Barbara) Jackson, Jr, brothers Earnest Jackson Jr, Harold Jackson, Arnold Jackson, and Kenneth Jackson; sisters Beulah (Cornwell) Jackson and Marie (Hunter) Jackson, and grand-daughter Eileen Joyce Jackson.
He is survived by daughters Sandra (David) Larew and Deborah (Jerald) Huston; grand-children Joshua Larew, Casie (Darrell)) Mellars, Rachel (Chad) Brown, Erica Jackson, Jared (Kierstin) Jackson, Katelin (Steven) Hyland, nine great grandchildren and two great great grand-children.
A memorial service will be held at the Geneva Community Church of God, Geneva, Fl. on Sunday October 23, 2022 at 4:00 PM. Donations in his memory can be made to the Geneva Community Church, 695 Cochran Rd. Geneva, Fl. 32732.
Armes-Hunt Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana, will handle the entombment. He will be laid to rest in the Matthews Cemetery, Matthews, Indiana.
