Barbara Jean Underwood

Barbara Jean Underwood, 83, passed away on Friday, June 16, 2017, at Community Hospital Anderson. She was born on January 25, 1934 to the late Herman and Elsie (Toombs)Bozein Anderson, Indiana. She married Phillip C. Underwood in March of 1953 and he preceded her in death on October 4, 1981. Barbara graduated from Fairmount High School. She then worked for attorney David Payne and then for the Grant County Treasurer. She attended Fairmount Friends Church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post #313 and also of the American Business Womens Association. She enjoyed cross-stitching, sewing, and baking. She also loved to drink coffee and entertain family, friends, and neighbors. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Sondra K. UnderwoodAlwineHeyse, Columbia City, Indiana; brother, Harold Harry Edward (Phyllis)Boze, Middletown, IN; and several nieces and nephews, including MarcMitchener, Fran Sanderson, and Donna Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and ElsieBoze, husband, Phillip Underwood, and 10 siblings, HermanBoze, PaulBoze, Pauline Hogan, Edna Wolff, JosephBoze, Faye Carmichael, RobertBoze, MarionBoze, Mary Clemens, and DonaldBoze. Arrangements for Barbara have been entrusted toArmes-HuntFuneral Home Cremation Services Fairmount Chapel, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, Indiana 46928, where a visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017, from 4:00-7:00 p.m.. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 7:00 p.m. with Rev.
