Barbara J. Symms, 82, died Sunday, November 6, 2022 at Morrison Woods in Muncie.


Barbara was born in Portland, Oregon on May 11, 1940, daughter of the late Raymond W. and Dorothea (Sutton) Dickerson. She graduated from Fairmount High School in 1958. She married Roger M. Symms on September 29, 1967 in Fowlerton. As a wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and friend, Barbara was charitable and always giving of herself. She was the queen of antiquing and shopping and could always spot a bargain. She loved her job at Pony Post Antique Shop where she liquidated estate sales. Barbara was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church.


Barbara is survived by her husband of 55 years, Roger; daughters, Leah (Brett) Frazer, Jonesboro, Nikki (Mike) Taylor, Castle Rock, Colorado, and Michelle "Telly" (Ernie) Juan, Noblesville; grandchildren, Noel (Justin) Hearn, Sydney Frazier, Grant Taylor and EJ Juan; great grandchildren, Nolan and Nash Hearn; Cousin, Jane Ann Underwood; and friend and business partner, Patty Chapman.


Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and brother Dennis Dickerson.


Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana where a gathering will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 2-4 PM with a celebration of life service at 4 PM with Pastor Gina Krause officiating.
