Barbara Joan Gibson, 88, lifetime resident of Summitville, passed away on March 14, 2025

Barbara was born in Summitville, Indiana on February 22, 1937, daughter of the late William and Lois L. (Harshman) Warren. She graduated from Summitville High School in 1955 and attended Ivy Tech. She married Kimble Gibson on August 20, 1955. Barbara was an EMT, working with the Summitville's ambulance service for 17 years. She had also been a nurse's aid at Mercy Hospital for 15 years and a Visiting Nurse for 12 years along with being Red Cross certified to teach CPR. Barbara worked at Community Hospital in Anderson for many years. She was also the First Woman member of Van Buren Township Fire Department. Barbara served as a Court Appointed Special Children's Advocate. Barbara was also a member of one of the first Women's social clubs of Summitville, the Skoshi Club. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alexandria and loved to crochet. She enjoyed visiting with friends and spending time with her grandchildren.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 70 years, Kimble Gibson; children Diana (Randy) Street, Summitville, Nicky Gibson, Clear Water, Florida, Gregory (Amy) Gibson, Wabash, Christina (John) Payton, Indianapolis; grandchildren, Joshua (Randi) Street, Jeremy Street, JT Payton, Makenna Gibson, Lauren Payton; great-grandchildren, Sierra (James) Street, Alec (Kori) Street, Christopher (Leann) Becraft, Haylee Anderson, Olivia Street, Levi Street, Marisa Street, Liam Street, Dakota Street, Noah Street, and Logahn Street; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Charlie Street and Aurora Street.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lois Warren, grandson, Jarrod Street and brother, Max Warren.

Services have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana where a visitation will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 2-4pm. Immediately following a service with Pastor Dan Decker officiating.

Chicken and Noodle Recipe

Noodles -

1. In a medium bowl add 2 cups flour

2. Make a hole in the middle

3. Add 2 eggs in the hole

4. With a fork start stirring the eggs and incorporate the flour slowly

5. Stir until you have a small ball that you can form and that isn't wet

6. With a flour shutter or colander sprinkle flour on the surface

7. Press ball out flat

8. Sprinkle with flour

9. Start rolling with rolling pin add flower as needed

10. Turn over make sure surface has flour

11. Continue rolling and turning until about ¼ inch thick

12. Get into 4 sections

13. Fold 1 onto 2, 3 onto 4 then stack the 2 stacks together

14. Roll into log, then cut into thickness desired

15. Lay out on cookie sheet and freeze for 30 min

16. Bag and keep in freezer until ready to cook

Chicken -

1. Boil whole chicken until falls off the bones

2. Scoop all chicken into colander and remove bones

3. Place chicken back in broth

4. Add 1 box beef broth - cook on low

When you are ready to cook noodles -

1. Bring broth to rapid boil

2. Add frozen noodles- let boil for 10 min.

3. Cook on med/low
