Arietta Kay Herring

Arietta Kay Herring, 76, passed away at home on Monday, November 21, 2022. Arietta was born on June 13, 1946, to the late Walter and Loretta Scott. A hardworker, she held many jobs over the years, including a waitress, factory worker, grocery store clerk, and many other positions, before retiring from Burns Security after more than 10 years. She enjoyed crocheting, playing games on her phone, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Arietta is survived by her children, Becky (David) Gauna, Amarillo, Texas, Gregory (Janice) Cain, Jr., Fort Wayne, and Stanley Osborne, Jr., New Castle; close friend, Gregory Cain, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Martha and Ruby Scott; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Loretta; husbands, Stan Osborne and Richard Herring; daughter, Angela Cain; brothers, Charles, Earl, and Jack Scott; sisters, Myrna McAtee, Treva Brown, Barbara Elsea, and Mary Ann Johnson; brothers-in-law, Jim McAtee, J.R. Brown, James Elsea, and Bill Johnson; and sister-in-law, Judy Scott.

Arrangements for Arietta have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will take place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
