Al Harms

Eugene Albert "Al" Harms, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, peacefully passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024, at the age of 68, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. Eugene, known affectionately as Al, was born on December 3, 1955, to the late Robert Eugene and Mary Lou Harms. Al spent 46 fulfilling years at General Cable (now Prysmian Group) as a dedicated production worker, until his retirement in 2020.

On September 13, 2003, he found love and joy with his dear wife, Vicki Lynn Stepler. Alongside his loving wife, Vicki, Al is survived by his children - Rob (Joy) and Ed (Summer), step-sons Lejuan Moore, and Brittan Moore. He cherished his grandchildren - Avery, Jacob, Jillian, Demetrius, Jaiden, Kohlin, Logan, Liam, Kadyn, Jada, and Briayza, as well as his great-grandson - Kazmire. Al also leaves behind his brother, Ronald Harms, and sisters, C. Diane (Ken) Foreman, Yvonne (Joe) Allen, and Naomi Hanson.

Al's passion for the outdoors was evident in his love for fishing, mushroom hunting, and camping. Above all, he treasured the moments spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements for Al have been entrusted to the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, located at 259 North Main Street, Upland, Indiana 46989. A visitation to honor Al's memory is scheduled for Wednesday, March 27, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Following the visitation, a graveside service, where Pastor Jim Neal will officiate, will be held at 1:00 p.m. at Matthews Cemetery.
