It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Aileen J. Heinzen, 92, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Aileen, born on July 2, 1932, in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, peacefully left this world on November 5, 2024, in Upland, Indiana. On April 22, 1950, she married John Heinzen in Marshfield, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on May 18, 1997. Known for her warm spirit and inviting nature, Aileen touched the lives of many with her kindness.
Aileen found joy in the simple pleasures of life - solving crossword puzzles, reading magazines, and dancing to polka music. Her love for the Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts, and NASCAR races filled her with excitement, while camping trips and shopping adventures brought her immense happiness. She had a special affinity for shoes, Bingo nights, and trying her luck at casino games.
Her Sundays were always reserved for hosting dinner, where three large plates filled with fried chicken awaited her guests. Aileen cherished holiday traditions, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve dinners, and creating memories while coloring Easter eggs with her family. Her homemade fudge, cookies, and candy were always a hit with those fortunate enough to taste her creations.
Aileen's infectious smile and ability to make anyone feel at ease earned her the love and admiration of all who knew her. She had a knack for persuading others to brush her hair, a simple gesture that brought her comfort and joy.
Aileen is survived by her children, Wendy Heinzen, Matthews, Tom (Jane) Heinzen, Upland, Sue Grissom, Matthews, John (Cathy) Heinzen, Summitville, and Cindy (Larry) McCowan, Gas City; grandchildren, Angie "Buttercup", Kerri (D.J.), Dustin (Courtney), Derrik (Jessica), Sarah, Steph (Brad), and Meg; great-grandchildren, DaKota (Logan), Kelsey (Daniel), Chloe (Cooper Austin), Carson, Peyton, Alex, Gabriel, Paisha, Elijah, Harper, Avery, Laynie, Brenlee, and Josephine; and great-great-grandchildren, Arabelle and Zerenity.
