Richard David Joseph Rodriguez, 73, entered into Heaven on Saturday, August 15, 2020, at Marion General Hospital. Richard was born on April 9, 1947, in Altoona, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Altoona High School and then enlisted in the Army. Richard proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. After returning home, he worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator and factor worker. Richard was fascinated by the paranormal. He enjoyed watching sci-fi and anything about aliens. He loved to spend time in nature, guns, and was an amazing photographer. Richard was a great jokester and loved to play pranks on people. He had a unique sense of humor. A good cook as well, his family will miss his parmesan crusted eggplant. Most of all, he loved his family unconditionally. Richard leaves behind his children, Joshua Herald, Camby, Jessica Vail, Franklin, and Atlantis (Danial) Branham, Swayzee; eight grandchildren, Shane, Madison, Sara, Carrie, Landon, Josie, Joshua, and Aurora; great-grandchild, baby Cowan on the way; niece, Jeana Carter-Pressnell; nephew, Richard Carter; and ex-wife, Lucinda Rodriguez. He was greeted in Heaven by his parents, Gerald and Mary Madeline Rodriguez; sister, Tina Carter, nephew, Russell; and great-nephew, Rilee Pressnell. Arrangements for Richard have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 South Western Avenue, Marion. Services are pending. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
