Juanita Comer

Juanita (Williams) Comer, 102, of Fairmount, died Friday, November 22, 2019, at Alexandria Care Center. Juanita was born in Howard County, Indiana on May 17, 1917, daughter of the late Clyde and Zelpha (Miller) Williams. She graduated from Swayzee High School in 1935. Juanita and John N. Comer were married on May 1, 1937. They were married 60 years before Johns death on April 25, 1998. Juanita was a homemaker, farm wife, and bookkeeper for the family farm. She was an active member of the community where she was a member of Center Christian Church and active in the Willing Workers, Hostess House, Department Club and Reading Club. Juanita loved flowers, reading, painting, and listening to music. She never met a stranger and was always ready for a good conversation. Juanita is survived by son, Lindley (Linda) Comer of Elwood;daughters-in-law, Karen Comer of Fairmount, and KittyComer of Tucson, AZ; two sisters, Susie Gavin of Marion, and Madonna Scott of Marion; 13grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, James Comer, Dr. Joseph Comer, and Dr Phillip Comer.; sisters, Mary Powell, Naomi Porter, Joan Shellen, and Faye Williams; brothers, Malcolm and Tence Williams, and Willis and Les Boswell. Arrangements are being handled by the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana where visitation will be held on Monday, November 25, 2019 from 4-7 PM at the funeral home. Funeral Service celebrating Juanitas life will be at Center ChristianChurch,St. Rd. 26 300 West, Fairmount,on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at 10 AMwith Dr. Thomas Jones officiating.Burial will be at Knox Chapel Cemetery.
