Donald Lee King passed away in his home on July 17, 2023. Donald was born to Robert and Marvel (Brown) King on November 9, 1950 in Marion, Indiana. After graduating High School in Newton, Iowa he enlisted in the Navy. He married Madonna Craig on October 3, 1982 and she survives.
After being disabled from the Navy, Donald studied education at Indiana Wesleyan and electronics at Ivy Tech. He worked at Riverbend and Genesis Place. Donald loved music and could play the guitar and banjo. He was in the Skunk River Boys Band in High School. He loved to fish, hunt, and camp and was a great cook. Donald was a member of the Jonesboro American Legion Post 95 and was the Chaplain for the Sons of the American Legion Post 95.
Donald is survived by his wife, children Sarah Jane King, Robert (Julie) King, Andrea King, Tammy (Gary) Parson and Troy Parson; brothers David (Vickie) King and Leonard King; several grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Roberta (Bert) Deshong, Roger and Paul King.
Arrangements for Donald have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home at 4601 South Western Avenue Marion, Indiana 46953 where vitiation will be held on Monday July 24, 2023 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 with Steve Armes officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jonesboro American Legion Post 95 424 South Main Street Jonesboro, Indiana 46938.
