Charles "Chuck" K. Hood

Charles "Chuck" K. Hood, 64, formerly of Fairmount, died Saturday, November 19, 2022 at his Silver Lake residence after a brief illness.

Chuck was born in Elwood, Indiana on February 22, 1958, the son of the late Charles and Alinden Dorothy (Cone) Hood. Chuck graduated from Madison-Grant High School in 1977. He had been a long time employee of Red Gold but retired in 2018 from Atlas Foundry where he worked in Maintenance Procurement. Chuck loved his grandchildren and enjoyed attending their sporting events along with his nephews sporting events. He loved the lake life and fishing. Music and dancing with his wife, Judy, in the kitchen or on the pontoon, always brought a smile to his face. They were the winners of the Twist in a dancing competition. He was also an avid Colts fan, loved his hometown James Dean Festival, and  classic cars.

Chuck is survived by his wife Judy; children, Travis (Emily) Hood,Fairmount, Julia Hood, Marion, Kyle (Sarah) Richards, Elwood, Audra (Rob) Wilkey, Elwood; grandchildren, Isabelle Hood, Leo Hood, Skyler Richards, Korigan Wilkey, and Kai Wilkey; brother Rob (Jane) Hood, Monticello, brothers-in-law Ronny Yoakum and Bill (Tammy) Cornelious, both of Fairmount; sister-in-law, Sharon Hood, Illinois; and mother-in-law, Carolyn Cornelious, Elwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Larry Hood, Jim Hood, Janet Yoakum, and Madonna (Ron) Slate.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana where services will be on Tuesday, November 22, 2022. Visitation is from 3-7 PM with the funeral service at 7 PM with Pastor Ron Meyer officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Knox Chapel Cemetery.
